Kevin Warner is a Licensed Massage Therapist who trained at
Ashmead College in Everett, changing careers to pursue the art
and practice of massage therapy after 20 years in a high
pressure industry. These years of working 40-60 hours a
week -- and the stress those hours brought him -- helped him
make his decision. He understands at a deep, personal
level the effects of stress and the need for a solution to the
pressures of today's stress-filled lifestyles. His
decision was also influenced by the total support of Renee, his
wife of 23 years.
Renee
was a large part of the reason Kevin started Gentle Giant
Massage. After she was injured in a car accident years
ago, she saw a reflexologist and massage therapist for
rehabilitation. The expert taught Warner techniques that he
could use at home to relieve his wife's pain. So he
tried it. Renee told him he should do it professionally,
a thought he first dismissed. But the idea of helping
others feel better, as well as relieve stress and pain, grew
in his mind and he was finally able to open Gentle Giant
Massage in 2007. He also contracts his services out at
Massage Envy in the Everett Mall.
"When I decided this is what I wanted to do, it became a
passion for me," he says, "and the support of my wife was
crucial for making the successful career change."
Through word of mouth and referrals, Kevin's reputation as an
exceptional massage therapist is growing, as is his business.
And, at the end of every day, there's a good feeling about his
work that wasn't as easy to come by when he worked in retail.
For Kevin, the art and practice of massage therapy is a
satisfying career and he sums it up by saying; "This is all
about making people feel better."
